In 1949, soon after World War II, the Soviet army adopted the Assault rifle as the official rifle for which development had been continued for years based on situatioin analyses during the war. It was named the AK-47 and recorded later as the greatest number of assaultrifles producted in the world. The operation system using the rotary bolt driven by gas pressure and using a short bullet of 7.62x39 mm has high reliability. Thus, the rifle was adopted not only in eastern countries but also by countries in other regions within a short period of time.
The Tokyo Marui has released the AK-47 III model with improvements for higher productivity and developed with the concept of realism based on data obtained by measuring various dimensions of the real rifle. Many metallic parts are used for better appearance and higher performance. In addition, the newly developed mechanical box is incorporated as the mechanism as well as the thin type EG700 high torque motor. Further, the variable hop-up system is a standard equipment, contributing to a longer shooting range and improved target hitting ratio. The model with built-in fully-grown electric mechanism and high quality feel with sufficient weight completely reproduces the most well-known rifle of the then Soviet Union.
